None in Three: A centre for the development, application, research and evaluation of pro-social games for the prevention of gender-based violence

One in three women will experience sexual or physical violence in their lifetime. The new £4.6 million None in Three (Ni3) research centre challenges the idea that violence to women is an inevitability. Read more


Helping to keep the railways on track

The railway network is always looking for ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency. This includes minimising the wear and tear to its trains and tracks, in particular reducing the forces generated between the train wheels and the track. Read more


Future Metrology Hub

The Future Metrology Hub, funded by the EPSRC and industry, is the only one of its kind in the UK. The rapid evolution of manufacturing makes the role of metrology – the science of measurement – more vital than ever. A new £40 million research centre based at the University of Huddersfield will play a crucial role in what has been dubbed the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Read more
